Leadership

We believe that faith can be strengthened, encouraged, and challenged through the strong friendships and relationships formed in church, rooted in Jesus. Gathering together to worship God, on Sundays and throughout the week, listening and learning from Scripture, serving Christ in our community together, or simply having coffee and talking about our everyday lives are just some of the ways our lives can be enriched through church family and fellowship.

There is a lot going on at Crinken and many ways to get involved regardless of age. From ‘Parents & Toddlers’, Children, Youth, Young Adults to ‘Young@Heart’, there is a place and a welcome for everyone.

‘So, in Christ we, though many, form one body,
and each member belongs to all the others.’

Romans 12:5

“The one who calls you is faithful, and He will do it”.

1 Thessalonians 5:24

There are a number of different groups, who are involved in leadership and decision making at Crinken Church, biblically qualified servant leaders, responsible for guiding and guarding the mission, vision, life, and doctrine, all under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, the chief Shepherd and head of the Church.

The Staff Leadership Ministry Team is led by the Pastor (Rector) providing leadership and pastoral care, serving the congregation and are responsible for the development of the spiritual life of the church. Through the preaching and teaching of God’s Word, we seek to clearly point to Jesus, applying His Word for people in all stages of life and faith. To train, empower through the Spirit and equip others both to serve Jesus in the church, and to live for Him through all of life.

The Management Team (The Select Vestry), who are elected each year at the annual general meetings, make decisions about the day to day running of the church, including property and finance and attend monthly meetings.

Crinken is a trustee church, the trustees are responsible for the ethos of Crinken, provide counsel and support to the Pastor and the Staff Leadership Ministry Team. The Trustees have legal responsibility for all aspects of church life.

The Minister in  Crinken

The Rev Tom O’Brien is the minister in Crinken following the retirement of Rev. Trevor Stevenson in 2023.

Tom held very senior positions within the HSE and has a depth of experience in many areas of business and church life. Following his ordination in 2018, he has served in and supported several parishes during vacancies and has answered God’s clear call to come into full time ministry.

We are thankful to the Lord for answered prayer to have Tom and his wife Daniella, and their family at Crinken.

“Commit your way to the Lord; Trust in Him and he will do this”.

Psalm 37:5
