January 2011 Review
It’s been my privilege to work for Fields of Life for the last fifteen years and see God do some amazing work both in my life and in the communities where we serve in East Africa. On a recent visit to Burundi and Uganda it was no exception. I was due to speak at our annual head teacher’s conference but instead found myself in hospital, in an isolation ward, on a drip and awaiting a blood result which I was very worried about. I had travelled to the North of Uganda and a disease had broken out there that is fatal and I had most of the symptoms. Thankfully when the results came back it was nothing worse than a bad case of food poisoning.
After being discharged I had the privilege of speaking at the closing session of the conference where I saw people’s lives changed and transformed by the healing Spirit of God. As people were prayed with, the rest of the conference delegates rose to their feet and began to sing in harmony and dance like I have never seen or heard before. It was like God had just opened the windows of heaven and given me a glimpse inside.
Lying on my bed later that evening exhausted, I thanked God for the wonderful moment I had witnessed. That still small voice came back “This is what I can do, learn to trust me.” I also felt God saying to me that I was to bring this message back to the fellowship at Crinken, to Ed and Jane moving to St. Johns and Michael and Therese moving to St Albans. “Do not be anxious or afraid for I the Lord your God will be with you to strengthen and guide you. I am the One who has called you, I am faithful and I will do it. And it’s alright to be excited.”
It is an honour and privilege to lead you during this vacancy period and let’s look forward to the exciting things God has planned for us as a church.

Crinken Youth
Throughout December at youth club we focused on Luke 2:11 ‘Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you, he is Christ the Lord’.
This is what Christmas is all about! The greatest present we will ever receive is from God who loves us sent his Son to be our Saviour. Like any gift God given by someone who loves us, God gave it to us in the hope we would open it and accept Jesus, our gift from Him and begin a loving Father/child relationship with Him.
In our youth bible studies we read through Luke 1 and 2. We learnt about the birth of two babies, John and Jesus. John the Baptist was the messenger telling people to get ready for Jesus the Saviour. God works amazing miracles as these babies are born to an old woman and to a virgin. That shows us the amazing power and love of God, also the humility and love of Jesus, the glorious one being born in a stable and coming to die for our sins. It is our prayer at Crinken Youth that many young people will hear the love of God not just at Christmas time but throughout the year.
Youth Clubs return after Christmas on January 21st. For further details, please contact Neil Douglas at the details above.
